As the Community Fellow, Betty works with and supports the Baltimore City's Hispanic Commission in fulfilling their goals of advocating for Baltimore's Hispanic community.
Before joining MIMA, Betty was a Program Coordinator for TRIO at Arizona State University, a Peace Corps Mongolia Volunteer, and an AmeriCorps Volunteer assisting immigrants and refugees with obtaining employment, education, and transportation. She holds an Education degree from the University of Arizona and is currently pursuing her master's in Applied Sociology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County as a Peaceworker Fellow. Betty is conversational in Mandarin and Mongolian, coming to the office with experience in community development and nonprofits.
